This is dubai around 20 or so years ago back before the skyscrapers, the flat screens, and the cool as fuck indoor skiing facilities. In all it was just a a couple of cheap ass apartments on a top of a sandbox, that of course all changed once they discovered oil and they decided to just splurg the shit out of everything despite the obvious fact that it will all run out someday but hey why worry about tomorrow when you can dine in your pure diamond hot tub now? Oh boy where we retarded back in the 1940’s….here is a newspaper article drawing of an honest-to-god prototype that the u.s. army was actually considering to create. As shown it would have been a one-person spacecraft and with it’s numerous arms could pull stuff in from space and well yeah that’s about it. It was to have basic propulsion systems on it and was to be launched from a rocket into space. Wow, thank god we decided to create NASA and let real scientist take over
